Remote Work in Nebraska Leads to Baptism of Louisiana Native

At World Bible School, we are always thrilled to hear about the success stories of our Students who have dedicated themselves to studying the Word of God. We are particularly excited to share the recent news of Donna Lacombe, one of our Students who was baptized on Valentine’s Day.

Donna Lacombe's baptism
Donna Lacombe

Donna, who hails from Louisiana, had been temporarily working in Nebraska. After studying “Born of Water and Spirit,” she learned the necessity of being baptized to wash away her sin. Yet, being away from home, she considered waiting until after she could return to Louisiana to be baptized. With the help of her Study Helper, Sean Prather, who also became her Follow-up Partner, Donna was able to connect with a church of Christ near her temporary work placement to be baptized.

The church wasted no time in welcoming Donna, and on Valentine’s Day, she was baptized in Christ. As she emerged from the water, Donna couldn’t help but smile, knowing that she now was saved by God’s grace.

Donna’s story is a testament to the power of God and the importance of baptism, no matter where you are. Even in difficult circumstances, God can work through people and situations to bring us closer to Him. We are proud of Donna and all of our students who have taken the time to study and learn about the Bible, and we look forward to hearing more success stories like hers in the future.

Same Mission New Goals

There’s a song we often sing entitled, “Higher Ground.” The words of the song begin like this…I’m pressing on the upward way, New heights I’m gaining every day; Still praying as I onward bound, “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”
