In this episode of One More Chapter, Brian Rex Davis (with guests Noah and Bryson Davis) explores how to apply Scripture under the New Covenant. He highlights Hebrews 7:12—that a change in priesthood (from the Levitical system to all believers as a royal priesthood, with Jesus as High Priest) necessarily brings a change in law—and contrasts the old legalistic, punitive Mosaic law with the “law of the Spirit of life” or “law of liberty” (Romans 8:1-2; James 1:25; Galatians 6:2). This New Covenant law works more like family relationships or the laws of nature: it is relational, life-nurturing, and oriented toward pursuing Christ-likeness and excellence rather than merely avoiding the edge of violation.
