Remembering Edie

Dear WBS family,

For many years the listening ear and wise counsel for WBS Student Follow-up has been Edie Connel. This past Sunday morning, Edie passed from this earth in her home in Abilene, Texas. She was surrounded by her family. Edie was a pioneer in our digital services beginning with WBS courses through e-mail. Edie had an enormous network of people that she worked with in order to make sure that every Student requesting Follow-up, baptism, or a church to attend was taken care of as quickly as possible. Though she struggled with pronouncing all of the international names (she laughed about this often), everyone knew Edie’s voice and her love for souls. When Edie called or sent a message, we all pulled together with her sense of urgency and excitement that one more lost soul was coming to know Jesus, was putting Him on in baptism, and was finding their place in the Body of Christ.

We thank Edie for her years of service, her dedication, and her friendship. We thank you for your service as we, together, carry on the vital work of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.
