Wiclyf, a WBS Online student, recently completed the course “Born of Water and Spirit.” As he studied God’s Word, he was convicted by what he found — and he made the most important decision of his life: he requested baptism.
His Study Helper, Gloria, who had walked alongside him through his studies, submitted his request. Follow-up Partner Edwin then reached out and made arrangements to meet him in person. On July 6, 2026, in Kenya, Edwin baptized Wiclyf into Christ.
Romans 6:4 tells us that “we were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that… we too might walk in newness of life.” That is exactly what happened that day. A student who simply opened a course, studied the Scriptures for himself, and arrived at full surrender to Jesus.
The story doesn’t end at the water’s edge, either. Edwin connected Wiclyf with a local congregation of the Lord’s church near him, so he wouldn’t walk this new life alone: Study leading to conviction, conviction leading to obedience, and obedience met with a family of believers ready to help him grow.
